Sometimes, I wonder how I got to this moment......writing about Angels. Then it hits me!
Oh yes, I've been working towards this all my life...
Suddenly, my soul said:
Oh Hello!, I've been waiting for you!!
It's by time you got here!
Welcome dear Judi
Growing up in a Catholic home, I was always taught about & encouraged to interact with the Angels.
My Guardian Angel - My earliest memory was of a picture that hung above my bed of a beautiful Guardian Angel watching over a little baby.....I have absolutely no idea what happened to that picture but I always felt safe when I looked at it.
Archangel Gabriel - was my next stop...In my catechism class and Catholic school education, I learnt that Archange Gabriel was the messenger who brought the good news to Mary. I always thought he was kind of special, i mean not everyone gets to deliver such great news...and I wonder if he is not really a she, coz i doubt any man would remember instructions!
I was in Grade 7 when a close friend passed away tragically in a car accident. While sitting on my bed crying, I saw a white shadow pass my bedroom door. I wasnt alarmed or afraid and I instantly knew that she was safe and at peace. Was she the angel that passed by my door? I believe so yes!
Throughout my Catholic upbringing I learnt about the Angels and how they appeared to mankind on various occassions - one specific Queen of All Angels, Mother Mary... The story of how she appeared to two young girls has always captured my imagination and a trip to Lourdes is certainly on my bucket list. Which brings me to the subject of religion....We do not have to change our lifestyle or abandon our religion to benefit from connecting with the angels for their help or guidance. As far as I am aware, the big book of Life is full of stories relating to Angels appearing to mankind, guiding and assisting them. The Roman Catholic chuch accepted angels way back in 325 AD.
But make to my Angel story... I've felt angels present when I have lost loved ones... One such occassion was that of my beloved grand-mother (whom everyone knew as Maisie). She was such a cracker! Always full of wisdom with wise words which I hope to share in my writings. During her passing on a beautiful summer day, as my mom was combing her beautiful silver hair with her yellow porcelein brush, she suddenly woke up and asked who all the little beautiful children were that were standing around her bed.. There was only my mom and I in the room (that we could see). We immediately sensed that the angels had arrived to carry my grandmother home to rest. She died peacefully later that morning
Angels are always there to comfort and help...You just have to ask.. Going through a very difficult time in my life many years ago, I sat alone on a bench watching the sea. I came there to find some peace and quiet, desperately searching for some guidance . Suddenly a man tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and there stood an elderly man who seemed to be out jogging with a pink rose in his hand. With tears streaming down my face, he handed me the rose and said nothing - just smiled. I was so taken aback that I immediately searched for a tissue in my bag so I could pull myself together to thank him. A few seconds must have passed and when I turned back to speak to him - he had disappeared. I looked up and down the beach and not a single person was in sight. He was quite elderly so I doubt that he was that Bolt 100m winner.! The angels had arrived to give me the reassurance that they were there to comfort me and would always be there for me.
There are signs everyday that Angels exisit! You just have to be open to them
Much love
